News from Saving Terra

Since its beginning, Terry has steered Saving Terra toward a celebration of bird diversity in all corners of the world and – at the same time – an awareness of the threats birds face, particularly in the global south.  Both foci are inspired by our travels to foreign lands.  This year our trips to southern Mexico, Finland and our 8-week tour of Indonesia have been featured in Saving Terra.  Terry has added a new section to the substack, Champions of Biodiversity, to showcase the contributions of local individuals to the preservation of biodiversity.   In 2026, we travel to Ecuador, Panama, Tanzania and Zambia, all of which will provide a wealth of material for Terry’s substack.   In Tanzania, we will return to Tarangire National Park and its elephants, the original inspiration for Terry’s novel Tarangire Dreams.  Terry continues to work on changes to the novel for a second edition, as well as a movie screenplay.
