Project Description

Public discussion and consensus-building were the focus of Ms. Walz’ contributions to the consulting team for creation of the Grand Junction, Colorado Master Plan. In this project, public involvement included community workshops, interviews with key leaders and structuring of joint city-county policy sessions. The plan, which began as an effort focused on the city and its extra-territorial jurisdiction, was coordinated with a similar planning effort by Mesa County, and resulted in adopted plans for both jurisdictions that included policies for unincorporated urban development, service provision and annexation.
