- On September 25, 2025
The University of Texas at Arlington’s Department of Public Affairs and Planning is revamping its advisory structure beginning in the Fall 2025 semester. Karen Walz FAICP has accepted an invitation to serve on the Advisory Council for the Department’s Master of City and Regional Planning (MCRP) Program. According to Deden Rukmana, PhD, Professor and Director of the MCRP Program at UTA, “The MCRP Advisory Council will comprise a diverse group of distinguished alumni and friends who are recognized leaders with a shared passion for advancing the mission of the MCRP program. Working directly with the Program Director, the council will provide strategic guidance in program development and assessment, curriculum and student engagement, faculty support, and external partnerships. The council will meet at least once a year and will play a vital role in implementing our strategies, accelerating the program’s growth, and positioning MCRP as a leader in planning education.” Karen is looking forward to assisting the program as it serves the planners and community leaders of the future.
