Dallas TX and Portal AZ

Most of our time in Dallas was spent on client projects, so you can read about those elsewhere. We do enjoy sharing our home and neighborhood with some other residents who provide lots of enjoyment to us!
The biggest performance we went to in Dallas this year was The Dallas Opera’s “The Magic Flute”. It’s hard to believe the Winspear Opera House is already 10 years old! This opera was one of Karen’s favorites when she studied in Berlin in college; it’s the first time Terry saw it. The performance aspects are all still great, though some of the sentiments and values it expresses are not ones we share (like those related to the Masons and gender stereotypes). But it was fun to see and this particular performance was very inventive in its sets and costuming, as you can see from the playbill.

Terry made a trip to Portal in April while Karen was working. We drove out together in early August for a short trip. Then Karen flew back to take care of workshops for several clients. She returned at the end of the month and we enjoyed time there over Labor Day. Here are a few of our visitors …
