The interior of the restored Dallas High School

The Urban Land Institute’s Dallas-Fort Worth District Council offers many options for engagement, including specialized committees and interest groups.  One of these is the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI).  I enjoyed its evening session on Smart Cities, held October 15, 2019 in the beautifully-restored historic Dallas High School.  This is now the Dallas office of Perkins + Will, who also did the renovation design. Count on an architectural firm to design a space that honors the building’s historic past and yet creates work and collaboration space for the designers of the future!

Speakers addressed a range of factors that make a city ‘smart’, including its technology and its efforts to be sustainable.
