An area plan focuses in on a specific smaller part of a community. Resident, business and property owner involvement is essential. While a broad range of issues may be addressed, the smaller geographic scope of an area plan allows it to include more detailed design recommendations and more specific capital investment recommendations. Their time horizon may be shorter than a comprehensive plan.
